2022 -2023 Food Allergy Policy
All Classrooms are peanut/nut aware. Peanut/nut containing foods may not be opened or eaten in the classrooms.
PreK and Kindergarten eat lunch in their classrooms, so may not bring peanut/nut containing foods for snack or lunch.
Grades 1-8 may not bring peanut/nut containing foods for snack, but may bring peanut/nut containing foods to eat in the lunchroom.
A designated area in the lunchroom will be reserved as a peanut/nut safe area where students who should not risk exposure to peanut/nut products may sit and eat lunch with friends who have non-peanut/nut containing lunches.
*Please note that Peanut/Nut products may not be brought to the Before and After School Programs, or on field trips.
We realize that initially this may present a challenge for some children. To assist with this adjustment,
a comprehensive list of allowable non-peanut/nut containing foods is posted below. Please adhere to this list. If there are foods which you would like to see added to the list, please contact the school nurse.
Thank you for your cooperation regarding this important safety measure!
